At Avance-Dallas we provide a way for parents
who graduate from our Parent-Child Education Program to give back to their
community. Through our Alumni Initiative:
• Parent alumni receive training in tutoring low-performing, at-risk children from low-income
neighborhoods
• Parent alumni provide weekly tutoring
services in reading for kindergarten and first-grade students at Dallas ISD
elementary schools
• Parent alumni improve literacy in the community by
taking leadership in their local schools
The result of our Alumni
Initiative is that our parent graduates extend the Avance impact on children after they leave our early
childhood program and that they produce strong results in low-performing Dallas
ISD schools. Avance-Dallas makes a
lasting impact on children, parents, families, and whole communities—an impact
that keeps on transforming lives even after parents complete our program.
